It happens every year

It happens every year.
Christmas rolls around, and I get emotional, sentimental, and introspective. I process the ups and downs, failures and successes, thank God for both, and aspire to do better next year.

I’ve witnessed a lot of pain, hurt, and loss this year, but I’ve also seen amazing courage, strength, joy, and forgiveness.

It’s amazing how the struggles in life reward us. We may not see light in the darkness, but the “son” will always shine after the storm.

Then Jesus gifts us with renewed faith, a sense of strength we never knew we had, and the will to live a fuller, happier life.

I’m grateful for Gods undying love when the world around us judges & condemns.

HE is our light in the darkness, HE is our GPS when we lose our way, HE calms the storms, heals the hurting, loves us like no other can, and patiently waits for us to call him Father, Savior, and Light of the world.

This new year, babies will be born, loved ones will pass on, cancer will strike, crime will hit, tears of sadness will flow, as will tears of joy, but it’s how we handle it, and who we run to that makes life worth living.

I was asked this year:
“Where was “your” God in the midst of all the pain?”
“Where was “your” God when the shootings occurred?”
“Where was “your” God when someone died of cancer?”

My answer:
“My God” was guarding my heart, when I was scared.
“My God” carried me, when I was too weak to cope.
“My God” held my tongue, when I wanted to lash out, and taught me that love, and forgiveness heals, and, hate, and anger destroy.
“My God” was answering my prayers, comforting those who are suffering, giving them peace in their pain, and renewed strength, to deal with all that life is bringing them.

“My God” is my heart light, and my prayer is that Jesus becomes your heart light too.

I pray he guides your steps, guards your heart, and protects your family.
I pray you feel his presence, and run to him when you’re lost, scared, and alone, no questions asked, no judgement, he will be waiting.

The world will condemn you, God will love, and forgive you.
Reach out to him.

Life is hard but we’re all in this together.
If you need prayer, leave me a comment, or send me a message, and I will add you to my prayer list.

May God bless you and your family,

Merry Christmas

Kathleen
